Title:

Projects as Homework
Speaker:  Stuart Copeland
Track: PM

 About the presentation:

As businesses have become leaner, medium important, medium complex projects are increasingly staffed by in-house resources working on them as ‘homework’. In “The People Project Triangle”, we term these ‘composite’ projects. The current crisis is only going to increase their number.
When pressure mounts, generally, only two of those can be prioritised and one must give. We observe that it is often the people that bear the brunt, with subsequent implications of stress and burnout.
We help you identify these projects and provide suggestions on how to manage them more effectively.

Bio Speaker:

Stuart is a profit focused Program & Project Leader. He works with organisations supporting their complex and risky business change programs. He has worked with Volkswagen Group and its Brands, Babcock International, Costa, Bureau Veritas, Objectivity, Traveline, NSL, Inchcape, MCL Group and SSE.

He co-authored “The People Project Triangle”, which describes the prevalence of projects as homework, their impact, how to diagnose and then mitigate the risks to those involved.

About PM Fair 2020, the digital fair:

Firstly, for reasons that should be obvious to all, this year’s event will be virtual and not physical: we are going online. No physical face-to-face sessions are envisaged. Instead, the congress will be made up of a series of webinars, online workshops and master classes.

Whilst presenting numerous challenges, this also provides plenty of opportunities.

The congress will be spread over an entire week, from Monday the 28th of September, through to, and including, Saturday the 3rd of October. The intention is to offer morning ‘coffee time’ sessions, along with lunch time opportunities, and additional sessions in the early or late evening, thereby maximising the possibility for our members to participate, either in live webinars, or by accessing recorded sessions.

In addition, ‘going virtual’ enables us to extend our existing wonderful relationship with our friends and neighbours, and present PM Fair 2020 in conjunction with from PMI Netherlands and PMI Luxembourg.
