January: Gratitude and a New Beginning

Note from President

First of all, we wish you all a happy New Year. 2026 is a special year, a year marked by the number 1. In numerology, this number symbolizes unity, completeness, and the beginning of something new.

The awareness that we are one community is becoming increasingly clear to each of us. Our motto “for the members, by the members” is regaining its full momentum. Without you, our members, our chapter cannot exist. With the introduction of the Unified Membership Model, launching in February, we are taking an important step toward greater simplicity and cohesion.

Would you like to learn more about this new model and its impact on your membership, both with PMI Global and our chapter? Then be sure to attend our webinar on January 13.

This model is also new for us as chapter leaders. We are approaching its impact with curiosity and thoughtful anticipation. It is clear that we will attract more members. At the same time, we must acknowledge that some members may leave. Navigating this evolution and finding the right balance will be essential. This too reflects the meaning of the number 1, finding balance in times of change.

This year, we are pleased to welcome two new Board Members and two Associate Directors:

Here as well, the Board will need to find the right balance between experienced members and new faces. New ideas must align with established responsibilities. Change is something we all know well. Some embrace it immediately, while others take time to recognize its added value.

At the same time, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Board members who are stepping down. We are deeply grateful for their years of volunteer service and dedication in building our chapter into what it is today. Special thanks go to:

Unity and collaboration will also take shape this year through continued cooperation with the Netherlands and Luxembourg chapters in organizing the PMI BeNeLux Summit 2026. A central theme is gradually emerging around AI in project management. How will our role as project managers evolve? What trends will we see in the coming years? And how do we attract the younger generation to the profession? These are questions we will explore together.

We also feel a strong sense of connection through our Communities of Practice. The Life Sciences CoP and the WiPM CoP, both launched last year, will continue to build engaging events, webinars, and content, each with its own annual flagship event.

  • In March, the 2nd edition of Women’s Day will be organized (WiPM CoP).
  • In November, the 3rd edition of the R&D PPM Day will take place (Life Sciences CoP).

All of this will be presented in more detail during our New Year’s Reception on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Holiday Inn in Zaventem. Be sure to reserve your spot and discover what our chapter has planned for 2026.

We look forward to writing this new chapter together with you.

With smiling greetings,
