Here I am as the new Director of Membership and volunteering and I find this so exciting.
If you think about it, it has been a year since we were hit by an unprecedented pandemic. A first lock down paralyzed many organizations and companies. All of them had to re-invent themselves to continue their activities.
PMI and especially our Chapter started creating virtual events, more webinars and refurbished trainings to virtual classes. Our PMFair became a week of events and webinars and our VDAB project management initiation class got revamped into an interactive 3 evening session endeavor.
A year full of activities that could never have happened without active members and volunteers.
That's why we can't say enough... THANK YOU MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS.
2021 seems very promising. Vaccinations have begun, governments, organizations and associations are brainstorming on how to resume social engagements.
We, the board, are also brainstorming. Until we will all be vaccinated, we will have virtual events but once we’re done… oh my God… how wonderful that feeling will be getting back together.
So, I call on you, members and volunteers: share your ideas, invite your social network to participate to PMI Belgium Chapter activities as I strongly believe that the 2nd half of 2021 will be “booming business”.
For the time being, stay alert for the virus but raise your head to look forward. The tunnel was long but we are spotting a light at the end of it.
Have fun reading the following articles. Cheers to the revival of our gatherings.
Like any disruptive event, the pandemic not only “exposed the cracks and the vulnerabilities of a fragile system”, like Agnes Uhereczky proves in her article below, but also forced all actors (governments, employers, European Union) to be aware of these and understand how critical it is to address them fast and in a collaborative manner.
PMI ATP's, previously known as R.E.Ps. (Registered Education Providers), are organizations, approved by PMI, that offer training in project management and issue professional development units (PDUs) to meet the continuing education requirements needed by PMI credential holders.
