Let me start by saying that I hope you are doing OK and staying COVID-19 free. As we are riding out the second wave, I hope you all still have the courage to defeat the virus. There is also hopeful news on the development of a working vaccine. So, there is light at the end of the tunnel although there is still a long way to go. Hang in there!
At the end of 2019 we were finalizing a webinar in collaboration with VDAB on project management to help people to acquire a new skill that they could use in their search for a job. The efforts started in the beginning of 2019. At that time, VDAB and PMI Belgium were looking at possibilities to reach out to more people. Promoting project management remains one of our main objectives. It could not have been done at a better moment. We could still offer our training without the face-2-face trainings.
The development of the webinar and the rebranding of PMI was also the trigger to revamp our training material. All the volunteers of Academic and Educational outreach were working really hard to make this happen. During this effort COVID-19 struck. This gave us a double challenge since the trainings we give are instructor led trainings, face-2-face. We had to go virtual!
Some days ago, we had our first dry-run of the virtual training. This will enable us to go ahead with our initiative in another format. I am really proud of this team effort!
So, stay safe, wear a mask and keep up the efforts to make this the last wave!

In 2017, the PMI Belgium chapter launched the GROW Program. That year, the program was very successful with 11 pairing mentor-mentees and very positive feedback has been shared by both the mentors and the mentees on the value this program created.
