This month we want to talk about our Educational Outreach program to inform you about what this program is about and how our Chapter is collaborating with other institutes and organizations to help them in their educational development.
PMI strongly believes that project management education increases people’s potential to transform lives and communities. Their mission is to inspire and empower people to realize their potential through the use of project management knowledge and they want to see all people worldwide to have a better tomorrow by applying project management skills in their daily lives. With this objective, PMI has created the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF).
PMIEF Belgium is an active member of the PMIEF Worldwide Organization and is extensively contributing to the educational programs in schools, universities, VDAB, FOREM and other organizations. Recently, they also organized PM Light workshops for university students, Toast Masters and young entrepreneurs.

PMIEF Belgium offers a one-day Light PM workshop
PMIEF Belgium offered a Light PM Framework workshop to Toastmasters and Toolbox Belgium on 16 February.
Give people a practical introduction to project management during a one-day practical PM workshop and give them confidence to do this themselves and continue to learn.
Practical understanding on a complete project life-cycle
Get familiar with a number of PM techniques
Have the confident and knowledge to run a simple project when they back to the office
Are you interested to attend a workshop like this in the future?
Perhaps you are new to project management or you would like to be able to facilitate such a workshop. Please contact Frank Turley at email@example.com for more information.
PMIEF Belgium supports Fresh Start
PMIEF Belgium is supporting Fresh Start which is a European project. UC Leuven Limburg cooperates with LSBU and Hogeschool Zuyd to create a model of integration through entrepreneurship for people with an international background. PMIEF Belgium is providing project management skills to these entrepreneurs.

The objective of Satellite events is to promote local PMI Belgium chapter activities in each region of Belgium. In smaller groups, closer to the members’ residence, oriented in a workshop or a discussion panel, more than a classical speaker presentation.
Two motivated volunteers have proposed to organise the first Satellite event of 2019 in Brussels.
Jean-Luc Loheac and Fabio Cristofoletto will welcome you at:

Chapter Event – 13 March 2019
We have the honor to welcome back Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez as our speaker for our Chapter event on 13 March 2019. Antonio is about to release his new book “The Project Revolution”.
Imagine a world in which most projects – personal, social, corporate, organizational and governmental – are successfully accomplished. That is the purpose and the reason for writing this book.
Leading projects thinker Antonio Nieto-Rodriguez explains the tremendous consequences that this unnoticed disruption is having on our lives and the reasons behind it. He also looks at how leading companies, governments, schools, and universities have already embraced projects as the way to deliver on their strategy and ambitions. Ultimately, this book explains how individuals and companies can develop the competencies required to transform and thrive in the new digital and project-driven economy.
The importance of Scenario Planning in strategic projects
Scenario planning is becoming more important than ever given the uncertain and changing environment in which the companies operate nowadays. This notion is especially valuable for PMO leaders driving the pipeline that will strategically fuel the future of the organization.
Either you are an executive recommending the CEO to keep your organization within its core business and stop expensive projects in the riskier arenas, or a Portfolio Manager exploring different variables before defining the strategic path for your programs. In both cases, how should you decide where to place your stakes?
The answer cannot be reduced to a single forecast and traditional risk management. It is important to embrace uncertainty but it is also important to remove (or at least minimize) the negative impact of reactionary responses to changes in the business environment.
The solution to this quandary might be good Scenario Planning. Read more.
How to get PDUs (by Frank Turley)
I get a number of questions regarding PDU's and I cannot always answer them. However, I came across two good articles by a PMI member from the south of Germany - Olivier F Lehmann.
Let me know if you come across any good articles that we can share with the rest of our Chapter members.

What will the future of Project Management be? A couple of years ago, on our minds, we had things like real time collaboration, advanced resource Management, intelligent reporting or having all projects in one central location as the future of Project Management. What if we are already there? Find out more in this interactive PointDrive by Microsoft:
