Each year, all chapters from Region 8 of PMI (All geographical European countries) are meeting together for sharing experiences and best practices to develop further the chapter activities and find possible synergies. This week-end (9-11 November) the Congress has taken place in Belgrade (Serbia); and the Belgium Chapter was present there with 4 board members. As member you can already benefit from the passport program (https://european-chapters.eu/) which allows you to register for any event from any chapter in Europe at the same rate as a local member.
Next week, we will have our last chapter event of the year (22nd of November) with the company “Engineering International Belgium” (https://www.eng.it/) a subsidiary of an Italian company already working with the Italian Chapters. This has been made possible thanks to the European collaboration between chapters and the Corporate Ambassador Program (http://pmiecc.org/ambassador) where companies are invited to collaborate with multiple chapters across Europe.
While PMI is providing services applicable to the whole globe, this R8 congress is of TOP importance for the European chapters to develop Services to our members adapted to the local specificities of our countries. Each year there is a call for candidature to host the next R8 event and it is our pleasure to announce that the PMI Belgium Chapter has been selected for organising in November 2019 the R8 Congress. This last Sunday, Serbia chapter has passed over to us the trophy of the R8 organisation chapter, symbol of our selection. This is an important recognition from PMI EMEA office of our professionalism and the engagement of our chapter in the development the PMI community in Belgium and in Europe. Brussels as Capital of Europe is also the perfect place for organising such an international congress with 40 participating countries and 48 chapters. Following this selection, we are already working on formalising the project plan and we are looking for a number of volunteers who want to contribute to this R8 congress, you may contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com if you are interested. Also, for companies that are interested to connect with 48 chapters in one single week-end to develop your visibility in any of those countries, do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org; this will help the Belgium chapter to support some of the costs of this congress and you will benefit from an immediate visibility with all the chapters of Europe.

Study Groups for CAPM and PMP
We are pleased to inform you that we are launching the Study Groups for the preparation of CAPM and PMP exams. Study Groups are used by PMI chapters around the world as a way for members to support each other to prepare for an exam and we would like to try this in Belgium for CAPM and PMP. This is very similar to a joint study session you may see in a university where students are grouping in a class room to emulate and support each other. Are you interested to join the Study Group? Feedback on the 2nd Volunteering Day 2018
On Saturday the 27th of October, 35 enthusiastic volunteers gathered together for a 3-hours session to discuss volunteering within the PMI Belgium Chapter. More specifically, we were able to present the way of working and our ambitious program for 2019.
Christine, Frank, Willem and Freddy presented the initiatives that have been selected during a previously held Board Strategy Meeting. We are very excited about all these initiatives, but we also recognize that we are unable to organize those by ourselves. So we are reaching out to our member community for help. Read more.
