Highlights of PM Fair 2022

The PM Fair 2022 was our first large event since the thick of COVID lockdown. During the organization, we were acutely aware that government placed restrictions could be levied at any moment. We were conservative with our plans, we planned for success and boy, did it pay off with a hugely informative and engaging experience.

So you do not have to feel alone when you make a big mistake while managing a project.

The Executive Boards of PMI Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg Chapters are delighted to announce that there will be a lucky draw at the end of each session. The winners of the lucky draw will be offered one year free Chapter membership for his/her respective country.

It was great to be involved in the PM Event, and it was even better to do all this volunteer work from home. As this was the first kind of virtual event that we did, we all had to learn new skills, and I think that is how we get paid 😊 I only did a fraction of the work that was performed by Brian Thumwood and Gert Bogaerts, but I still managed to do the following three things for the first time.

We regret to inform you that our physical event at the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren on Friday 8th of October has been cancelled.
We made this difficult decision to cancel due to low number of registrations.

We, the PMI Board, have spent quite some time deliberating if and how to move forward with the PM Fair this year – whether to try and continue with the normal face-to-face gathering of 220+ people at a carefully selected venue, or to go virtual and hold an online event.

“Pretty much every industry, globally, has been impacted by COVID-19. Some companies have shrunk to a virtual standstill – especially small enterprises that rely on footfall, like restaurants and retail shops or larger airline companies.

Some companies have witnessed massive demand increases, like distribution companies, pharmaceuticals, toilet roll manufacturers.

We have had many, many exciting applications from wonderful speakers to take part in this year’s event. Being virtual, with no limit on rooms and no cost constraints, we have the opportunity to include more sessions than normal.

Just a reminder to ‘save the date’ … the PM Fair this year will take place between Monday the 4^th – and Friday the 8^th  of October.

We are pleased to announce that due to the stabilizing situation, we are able to proceed with the 2021 PM Fair as planned:

The online virtual event will take place between  – Monday the 4^th and Friday the 8^th of October and will be free to members

As usual, the PM Fair will take place in the first week of October this year. Benefiting from our experience of last year, and still with some concern about whether we will actually be able to meet face-to-face by then, we are planning a hybrid event.

Hi, registrations are open, people are signing up, but the number of places for the physical event is limited. In addition, the first members to sign up will also get free passes to visit the museum during the day.

In our post-pandemic age we learnt from our PM Fair of 2022 the importance of embracing change to manage our future. But what is the future? Those that read PMI Global Megatrends report 2022 will be aware of key areas of change that impact industry, and ultimately ourselves as project managers and team leaders.

PM Fair 2021 kicks off next week, with online sessions taking place Monday to Thursday

But on Friday, we host the main event:  the possibility for a face-to-face gathering, to see live presentations, meet the presenters, network with your peers and colleagues, speed coaching, meet our sponsors and hear about their offerings, and enjoy a reception drink in the lounge of the Africa Museum – the first time many of us will have done anything like this for quite a while. And there are still some places available with an extra ticket to visit the museum itself

You can register via pmfair.org for any of these sessions, but registration for the physical event at the Africa Museum closes this Friday.

If you are thinking of registering , DON’T DELAY, REGISTER TODAY ! Registrations are lower than expected at this stage, and if they do not significantly increase, there is a risk the event could be CANCELLED !!
