While 2018 closes its door, we can now start reflecting and look back on the achievements. I must admit that I'm really proud of what we have accomplished. Starting with our 12 events where for all chapter events, we have been collaborating with companies (CMI, ISF Tervuren, CMAST, AE, Mölnlycke, VDAB & Engineering International Belgium) to host our events and provide interesting content. This is now the classical model of our chapter events and new companies are knocking at the door to get the chance to host one of our events. This is really demonstrating the positive image we have on the market.

This good reputation and image also have a positive effect on our member base statistics. Thanks to the great effort of Freddy and Roeland, we are very proud to announce that we have increased our member base by +60 to reach more than 900 members.
We also had an outstanding PM Fair and 20th Chapter Anniversary Celebration moment. We reached a very high participation-rate and brought a very diverse and delighted content. Christine and the PM Fair team have completely revisited the concept of “Inspiration Hall” to make the event interactive all along the day. This also enabled possibilities for attendees to adapt their day program to dynamic presentations, interactive workshops; masterclasses; new experience with video recordings and visits at the sponsor booths which have been completely integrated as another key part of the content provided during this day.

Willem and his volunteering team did a very good job maintaining the delivery of PM introduction courses in the different VDAB-regions, to give extra competencies to the unemployed people to find a job. They are also continuously working together with schools and Universities.
Frank, our director of professional development, has been very actively working on the creation of local and unique content for our members with a number of testimonies, and video interviews. Also, with new volunteers, the Professional Development team is now preparing Study groups for creating an emulation between members who are preparing for certification.
Renuka and Parisa, The Communication & Marketing team, have also worked a lot this year to modernize our communication style and approach. There is now a real focus on social media with LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. All our events are promoted with digital banners and images; Videos have been developed for promoting the PM Fair. They both developed new modern roll-ups and last but not least, a completely revamped website look & feel that has been launched mid-November.

With the new Board Members and Associate Directors in place, we have a very strong appetite to also make 2019 a big success and be able to serve you as our members. I want to thank you for your participation and commitment to level-up further our profession and looking forward to meeting you in 2019.

I wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a wonderful and healthy 2019,

Stéphane De Vroey
President PMI Belgium Chapter 2018-2019
