PM FAIR 2018 - Event Feedback

Dear members,

Last Friday 5th of October we had our 19th edition of the PMI Belgium Chapter Day congress, The PM FAIR.The congress was also the celebration moment of the 20th anniversary of the Chapter. One again the Volunteering Team has made a tremendous job during the last 10 months for setting up an outstanding event with 220 participants. We would like to congratulate all speakers, and volunteers who made this event such a great event. Without their contribution this congress would simply not exist. The contribution of the sponsors to this event is also of great importance as they support a part of the costs and also take part in the animation of the Inspiration Hall. Thanks to them for their unwavering support.


Numerous feedback from participants demonstrated this was one of the best PM Fair organised so far. The concept of mixing different types of activities with the very dynamic 20' "TEDx" style presentation, the more classical "workshop" model in classroom combined with the Inspiration hall proposing a "Discover, Expore, Experiment" approach made this congress very dynamic. Participants could discover running activities in every place of the venue. The sponsor booths have been fully integrated within this concept and highly contributed to this experience. New joiners, Beginners, Confirmed and Advanced project managers have been able to adapt their day program with "light and inspiring" content up to "intense and to the edge" of the project management knowledge.

During the congress we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Chapter. During 20 years, 74 board members and many volunteers have animated and developed the chapter to reach today 880 members. This represents up to 140.000 hours of volunteering. All our congratulations to the four members who have continuously supported the chapter since the beginning: Vincenzo Alicandro, Didier Brackx, Louis Mercken, Geert Vansteenkiste to who the chapter has the pleasure to offer a 20th membership trophee.


To keep this awesome moment in our mind a bit longer, we are finalising the publication (on the PM Fair Facebook page) of movies made all along the day in the Auditorium. We are already looking forward for our 20th edition of the PM Fair in 2019. We immediately started the onboarding of volunteers to build a new project team. For sure they will prepare again an outstanding event for you. We hope to see you all there to break another attendance record.
