Insights and inspiration for project professionals

Beginning of this year, I volunteered for the organisation of the New Years event of our PMI-Belgium organisation.  This was an interesting and quite enriching experience.  I got the opportunity to get acquainted for two members, I didn’t know personally up till now (Wendy and Frans).  With Frans I spend interesting hours, brainstorming about the organisation and the content of the quiz.  With the theater people we settled all logistics, discussed the technical possibilities, etc.  Everything happened in a good spirit, without the pressure of a real project, but still respecting deadlines and budget limitations.  A nice example of project management applied in a real life case, in a friendly non-commercial environment.  You learn from it, you meet now people and you appreciate the positive feedback from members and the board, when everything turns out fine.  In short, it was a wonderful experience which certainly welcomes new volunteer opportunities !
