Call for Candidates – PMI Belgium Chapter Elections 2026

The future of project management in Belgium is shaped by people who are willing to step forward.

As we prepare for the 2027–2028 PMI Belgium Chapter Board, we are looking for passionate, committed and forward-thinking project professionals who want to make a real difference.

Being a Chapter leader is more than taking on a role. It is an opportunity to shape the future of our community, develop your own leadership capabilities, expand your network, and contribute to the profession you are passionate about.

You don't need previous Board experience. What matters is your passion, curiosity, commitment, willingness to collaborate, and desire to make an impact. Diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives make our chapter stronger.

Could this be your next leadership challenge?

We are looking for candidates for the following Board positions:

Director of Marketing & Communication

Shape how the PMI Belgium Chapter connects with its members, partners and the wider project management community.

You will develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy aligned with the chapter's strategic goals, define and monitor relevant KPIs, and ensure continuity through effective succession and transition planning.

You will safeguard the PMI brand across all chapter communications, marketing materials and digital platforms, while creating and managing campaigns across email, social media, websites, newsletters, advertising, events and other communication channels.

You will also build strong relationships with sponsors, local businesses and academic institutions, support chapter events with consistent branding and messaging, and work closely with chapter teams to develop and execute the annual marketing calendar.

Your role will be key in increasing the chapter's visibility, strengthening its reputation, promoting its programs and services, and creating stronger engagement with our community.

Director of Finance

Help ensure the financial sustainability and transparency of the PMI Belgium Chapter. You will contribute to budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, forecasting and strategic investment decisions that enable the chapter to grow and create value for its members.

Director of Membership

The Director of Membership drives the growth, engagement and retention of the PMI Belgium community by promoting the value of membership and creating a strong member experience from onboarding onwards. The role uses member insights and feedback to continuously improve services, strengthen engagement and identify new growth opportunities. The Director also ensures effective membership communication, data management and reporting, while building sustainable processes and succession for the future.

Director of Volunteering

The Director of Volunteer builds and strengthens the PMI Belgium volunteer community by attracting, engaging and developing volunteers. The role connects people's talents and ambitions with meaningful opportunities, creates a positive volunteer experience, and ensures contributions are recognized and valued. The Director also develops future chapter leaders through coaching, development and leadership opportunities, while ensuring effective volunteer processes, succession and continuity for the chapter.

Director of Professional Development

Shape the learning journey of our project management community. You will develop and lead the chapter’s professional development strategy, creating a roadmap of relevant learning opportunities aligned with member needs and the evolving project profession.

You will oversee workshops, seminars, courses, study groups, professional development days and certification-related activities, while building partnerships with training providers, industry experts and other PMI communities. By listening to member feedback and embracing new learning opportunities, you will continuously improve the value and impact of our programs and help project professionals learn, grow and advance their careers.

Director of Academic & Educational Outreach

Build strong connections between the PMI Belgium Chapter and the next generation of project professionals. You will develop and lead outreach initiatives with universities, faculty and students, promoting project management education, PMI programs, student membership and opportunities such as mentoring, networking and case competitions.

You will build lasting academic partnerships, coordinate volunteers and outreach activities, and measure their impact. Working closely with the Board, you will bring the voice of students and academic stakeholders into the chapter while continuously developing new opportunities to inspire and engage future project leaders.

Director of Events

Bring our community together through inspiring and valuable events. Lead the chapter's events strategy, work with volunteers, speakers and partners, and ensure that our events create meaningful experiences for our members.

Director of IT & Technology

Shape the digital future of the PMI Belgium Chapter. You will lead the chapter’s technology strategy, identify and implement solutions that support our strategic goals, and ensure our systems remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.

You will work closely with chapter teams to improve digital services, data and reporting, while coordinating technology volunteers and ensuring continuity of IT support. You will also identify opportunities for innovation, plan future technology needs and continuously improve the digital experience for our members and volunteers.

Why become a PMI Belgium Chapter Leader?

Volunteering as a Board member is one of the most powerful ways to combine giving back with your own professional and personal development.

As a Board member, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop your strategic leadership skills by contributing to the chapter's vision, governance and long-term direction.
  • Expand your professional network by working with experienced leaders, volunteers, sponsors, academic institutions and PMI communities.
  • Strengthen your executive presence through decision-making, stakeholder engagement and representing the chapter.
  • Build your project and portfolio leadership experience by leading initiatives that create tangible value for our community.
  • Discover and develop new skills by stepping outside your usual professional environment.
  • Work with a passionate team where ideas are welcomed, collaboration is encouraged and achievements are shared.
  • Give back to the profession by helping shape the future of project management in Belgium.
  • Earn PDUs while contributing as a volunteer leader and investing in your own continuous development.

You don't have to be an experienced Board member.

You simply need to be willing to step forward and make a difference.

Perhaps you have been thinking about taking on a leadership role but have never found the right opportunity.

Perhaps you have a talent, experience or idea that could benefit our community.

Perhaps you are ready to challenge yourself, learn new skills and work with others to shape what comes next.

This could be your moment.

The PMI Belgium Chapter is built by volunteers who choose to contribute their time, energy, expertise and ideas. Our future depends on people who are ready to take responsibility and turn opportunities into action.

Step forward. Lead with purpose. Inspire others.

We invite you to submit your candidacy for the 2027–2028 PMI Belgium Chapter Board.

Join a team committed to creating exceptional value for our members, strengthening our community and advancing the project management profession across Belgium.

Your experience matters. Your ideas matter. Your leadership can make a difference.

Will you be one of our next PMI Belgium Chapter leaders?

This version deliberately shifts the message from a list of vacancies to an invitation to leadership, making the personal development and impact opportunity much more prominent.

With smiling greetings,

Anja Vandenbergh, PMP
President, PMI Belgium Chapter
