News from the PM Fair: The ART in project management as you need ART to become STAR.
You all know that we are organizing our annual congress: PM Fair. A day where you can fully emerge yourself in different topics related to project management. The theme of this year is the A.R.T. in project management. With this theme we want to go back to the basics of project management without excluding those who want to learn deeply about project management.
The PM Fair consists of 4 pillars: Venue – Content – Sponsors – Participants.
With the PM Fair team, we already secured the Venue: Bluepoint in Berchem. With this booked the PM Fair team could focus on the content. Together with Julija Popova, our content leader contacted our list of speakers, contacted new speakers and brainstormed on how to have a high-quality content program to offer to you all, even if you are new or a master’s in project management. With the theme A.R.T. we had our tracks identified, but how to satisfy newbies and master’s in project management.
Seeing the deadline approaching for the submission of speakers’ abstracts, we counted 24 speakers wanted to offer, to share their experiences and practices with you.During our PM Team call we reviewed the abstracts, we gave them points from 5 to 1, where 5 is very satisfying and aligned with the PM Fairs’ theme. From the 24 speakers, speakers with a score around and above 20 were selected within the tracks A.R.T. and S. and in their associated level: Pioneer – Innovator – Master. Julija and I would like to thank the whole PM Fair team for their time reviewing the abstracts and giving them points to be selected.
Today we are very proud to present you with a wonderful program, where diversity in topics and levels will be a challenge in your choice during the day. Our speakers are confirmed and very excited to be part of this day to share with you their best practices and experiences in project management. On the PM Fair website, you can find the full program and in the coming weeks we are going to present you the speakers one by one in a funny PM Fair Talk.
Let us first present to you our 2 keynote speakers: Lorenzo Vetrano and Hans Vandenberghe.
Lorenzo Vetrano keynote session will be Mastering the Court: Applying Disciplined Agile to Basketball Success.
In this keynote Lorenzo Vetrano shares his unique experience of applying the Disciplined Agile (DA) toolkit to a basketball team he coached in a small town near Milan. This true story highlights how principles of agile methodologies can transcend traditional project environments and drive success in unexpected contexts. Lorenzo will illustrate how the DA toolkit supported him in building awareness, establishing rules and driving transformation, and fostering self-care within the team. Attendees will gain practical insights into adapting agile practices to various settings, understanding the importance of a disciplined environment in guiding transformations, and recognizing the role of self-care in sustaining high performance. He will be at the morning keynote session.
Hans Vandenberghe, our keynote where we will close the PM Fair. The title of his keynote: Beyond the blueprint: cultivating conscious leadership in Project management. This session will delve into how self-awareness and conscious leadership can dramatically enhance project outcomes, team dynamics, and personal resilience. Discover strategies to transcend routine challenges and the typical drama that can surface within teams. Learning to navigate project demands not merely as tasks to be managed, but as opportunities for personal and professional transformation. Embrace this shift from doing to being and reframe your role as a project manager to a visionary leader within your projects, fostering a culture of engagement, creativity, and sustained success.
In the following weeks we will post the other selected speakers on our PM Fair website and LinkedIn page. Follow those to be updated with the latest news on our speakers and program.
The third and fourth pilar of our PM Fair need to be together. Sponsors and participants
Sponsor and participants at a congress share a symbiotic relationship that is essential for the success of the event. Sponsors play a crucial role in providing financial support, resources, and expertise that enable the congress to take place and thrive. In return, participants bring value to sponsors by engaging with their products or services, networking with industry professionals, and contributing to the overall success of the event. Without sponsors, the congress would lack the necessary funding and support to be organized, while without participants, sponsors would not have an audience to connect with and promote their brand. Together, sponsors and participants create a dynamic ecosystem that fuels innovation, collaboration, and growth within the congress community. They are interdependent entities that rely on each other's presence and contributions to make the congress a meaningful and impactful experience for all involved. Today we are proud that some companies are sponsoring the PM Fair. Prosource, our Golden Chapter sponsor will be having a PM Fair Booth. The Bayard Partnership has been another partner for years now. We know them from the several books they promoted at the PM Fair. The Bayard Partnership is more than a bookstore. They deliver highly qualified training and workshops in change management; project management and they help their customers to get their projects back on track with project management tools. Ishtar 365, a very young and new company, is a logo sponsor for the PM Fair. They have a very easy PM-tool that can help project managers in their document management. As project managers we all know how important it is to find the associated document, to store it on an easy platform so that everybody can access the document very easily, without navigating through complicated tools and platforms. But Ishtar365 is more than just a logo-sponsor. During the coffee breaks and lunchtime, you can interact with them; get to know them in what training, coaching, consultancy they provide to level up your project management skills and knowledge.
Recently also Xedis join our supporter team! Participants are even more significant to the existence of the PM Fair. In the past we had the PMI BeNeLux Days as a free event for our participants. Since PMI BeNeLux Day become PMFair we only the PMI Belgium chapter is organizing it, we had to introduce the paid fee to the event, to become break-even. For all PMI Members you can register now for the PM Fair while using the Early Bird Registration fee. With the board we have agreed to extend this Early Bird Registration fee to 15/08. So, it would be great if you could register and reserve your place before you leave on holiday.
With smiling greetings,
PM Fair team & Anja Vandenbergh
President of the PMI Belgium Chapter
