Mentoring Program 2018
2018 Project “GROW” Mentoring Program
Our pilot of the PMI Belgium Chapter Mentoring Program in 2017 (branded under project “GROW”) is very successful and has been very positively appreciated by our members. We are very pleased to announce that we will launch the 2018 program very soon.
Be the first to register to the next year program – the registration time will be between October 1 st to December 31 st. More information will follow in the coming weeks
Although people mainly learn and develop themselves through job experience, Mentoring is a complementary way to learn through others beside the learning through structured courses and programs.
"Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be." Eric Parsloe, the Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring
The mentoring programme will assist both mentors and mentees in attaining key life skills though sharing experiences with each other.
What are Mentors and Mentees?
A Mentor is defined as a person who is committed and able to share knowledge and experience in a manner that may lead to enhanced performance by positively affecting another's professional and/or personal growth.
A Mentee is defined as a committed person who seeks direction from a Mentor or benefits from his/her experience and lessons learned. Protégés must be active.
Mentorswill become more self-aware and will benefit from the sense of satisfaction gained through giving back to the community.
Mentees gain from access to an impartial mentor able to help them develop new competencies including leadership skills, and many develop to the extent where they take on a mentoring role after completing the programme
