June: After the Rain Comes Sunshine, After the Storm Comes Calm
The past few months have been particularly intense for our chapter. Changes and challenges required a great deal of flexibility and resilience to ensure the continuity of our services to our members.
Today, we are gradually entering calmer waters again -a moment to look ahead together with all of you.
Transparency and Open Communication
Transparency remains one of our core values. Therefore, we would like to invite you to our General Assembly on June 15, 2026.
During this meeting, we want to openly share the challenges we have faced since the beginning of this year, but also the lessons we have learned and the strength we have gained through these experiences.
We strongly encourage you to attend. This General Assembly will not be a one-way communication, but a genuine dialogue.
We want to listen to your ideas, reflect together on the future of our chapter, and create space for everyone who wishes to contribute actively or ask questions about the direction we want to take together.
The Strength of Volunteer Commitment
The PMI Belgium Chapter has always been, and continues to be, built on volunteer commitment. That commitment is incredibly valuable, but it also requires balance.
Just as in project management, volunteering and leadership come with their own “triple constraint”: work, family, and health. From the very beginning, we emphasize that personal priorities must always come before chapter activities.
The past months have reminded us how quickly circumstances can change. In a short period of time, several board members had to make new personal or professional choices due to evolving priorities.
This not only created organizational challenges, but also moments of reflection:
- How do we keep expectations realistic and sustainable?
- How do we ensure that volunteers can continue their engagement with satisfaction and motivation?
Finding Balance
Finding a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and volunteer work is not always easy. Career growth, additional responsibilities, or changes in personal circumstances can all impact someone’s level of engagement.
As a chapter, we fully understand and respect this reality.
Our goal is not only to build a strong organization, but also to create an environment where people can contribute in a way that remains meaningful, healthy, and sustainable for themselves and those around them.
Well-Being Matters
The well-being of our volunteers also deserves special attention. Well-being can be strengthened in many different ways, often through simple yet meaningful moments.
A walk in nature with a colleague, partner, or friends can provide renewed energy and inner calm. Listening to a meditation or consciously slowing down for a moment can help restore balance to both body and mind and allow the nervous system to recover.
Even a genuine ten-minute laugh can work wonders — bringing energy, relaxation, and that empowering feeling of:
“I can take on the world.”
By paying attention to well-being, we create not only greater resilience, but also a more positive and supportive environment for everyone contributing to our chapter.
A Positive and Respectful Environment
We want to foster an environment where people feel valued, where open communication and mutual respect are central, and where decisions are made in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
At times, this has required difficult but necessary decisions to protect and strengthen that healthy collaboration.
Looking Ahead Together
Today, we look ahead with confidence. Together, we want to continue building a strong, sustainable, and inspiring future for our chapter — one built on respect, engagement, and collaboration.
