Impressions from our March chapter event

Articles

The March chapter event was hosted by Tobania. Before starting the evening, we had the pleasure of enjoying a walking dinner. The buffet was indeed more than satisfying. Thanks again!

The chapter event was opened by the host, followed by a presentation by Pascal Vanden Bossche on how to professionalize project management within your company. He explained why/how less project mature companies best start with a standard project management training. The other end of the spectrum was better served by a more "open" approach to project management, without too many formal frames. Let the people decide for themselves. One of the concepts was OpenSpace Agility, based upon the successful experiences developed within interantional NGOs in the 1990s. Ideas, tips and hints were shared in an interactive way with the audience.

This chapter event, we also announced the winner of the best thesis award from the students of Mario Vanhoucke (Ghent University, Vlerick). The project detailed an alternative to the traditional risk management approach, applied to a construction project in Ghent. Congratulations to the winning team!

The evening was closed with PMI community messages including an explanation of the new PDU process and the code of ethics.

Before returning home, we enjoyed drinks and networking to conclude an interesting evening.

Get a flavour of the evening with the pictures below.
