PMI and VDAB join forces
The VDAB is the public employment service of Flanders. They facilitate the job finding process for both employer and employee. As such they are one of the biggest job sites. They also provide personal assistance in the search for a job. And to maximize the future success of any job applicant, they organize trainings on a broad variety of topics. Each training is focused on helping unemployed people to maximize their value on the job market.
PMI Belgium and VDAB successfully concluded a first Proof of Concept training for Project Management. Young unemployed attendees from various regions and backgrounds volunteered to follow a three evening course. The teacher was our own Jacques Neyns, Director of Academical & Educational Outreach (in action below).
It was a basic overview on the processes and skills of project management. We shared a lot of real life examples during the sessions. The purpose was to provide additional cards for each to better find their way on the job market. Everybody worked very enthusiastically on the exercises and the questions were answered in a very open atmosphere. And illustrative for the motivation: one person followed this course even via Skype!
After the training they all got a PMI Belgium certificate to state that they successfully followed a three session introduction training on Project Management.
