Articles

We were chomping at the bit to meet in person. After some initial apprehensions about whether we can we hug, shake hands etc (speaking for myself as a hugger, I worked entirely from home for the large part of the previous two years so it was quite a change), it was wonderful to see both old and new faces and embrace them appropriately.

We were warmly welcomed to the congress by our President Christine Dassy in her address and Frank Turley kept up our engagement and energy throughout the day as Master of Ceremonies.

Our Keynote lectures were given by Jean-Christophe Hamani & Mark Mortier, and we had a special address from our former president Guy Goossens.

Jean-Christophe Hamani’s keynote Transformational organisation: PMI Pulse of the Profession: Report in a post-covid evolving world and Guy Goossen’s presentation PMI 4.0, both past presidents for their chapters in France and Belgium respectively, presented an aligned view on the importance of adopting change exemplified by gymnastic organisations. More on this topic is available in the next article and also in the PMI report Beyond Agility.

Mark Mortierin his keynote address presented an authentic and personal account on the importance and value of empathic leadership backed up by industry data.

According to Marcus Glowaszin his presentation Adapting to the age of change and transparency it would appear the world is changing at an increasing rate, and he provided insights on new ways to address the challenges in a faster moving world.

Valerie Malisse taught us how to be our authentic selves in her talk about inspirational leadership, Leading through the power of relationship.

2022 saw a welcome return of our dear friend John Niland. Warm, insightful and humorous, John gave a workshop entitled The Identity Economy: How to raise the value of your work with a clear professional identity.

Nicolas Petit gave a first-class presentation on how we can create winning influential ecosystems by modelling behaviour of positive change in organisations.

Stephen Denier and Mathieu Gandaj, gave fantastic practical workshops on Scrum and Lean, respectively.

We maybe didn’t have a huge space to work in this time but our sponsors certainly made the most of it. A huge thank you to them for bringing energy and entertainment to our PM Fair! There was a darts competition, virtual reality games, and many other activities – well done all for your creativity and dedication in putting it together.

Colruyt had a dedicated presentation given by Kurt Vandehaege Setting up a lean, Agile and controlled environment to manage change and optimise IT delivery. Kurt outlined positive working practices that ensured success for Colruyt.

We hope you enjoyed the PM Fair 2022. We certainly enjoyed the learnings, the engaging and networking. This article highlights but a few key moments during the day, but there were many, many more to speak of created by dedicated professionals and you, our members! Thank you for all dedicated volunteers and speakers to make the PM Fair 2022 a truly wonderful event. In Christine’s words to close our PM Fair on Change Management: Adapting today for a better tomorrow, ‘Are you ready?’
