On Tuesday 27th August, we held our 1st joint event with IIBA® Brussels Chapter at the offices of Randstad Digital in Leuven. The aim of the event was to bring project managers and business analysts together to learn from each other and share experiences.

To get everyone focused on the case study, we started with a laughter- and breathing exercise, followed by introduction speeches from Jerry Hamal, Filip Hendrickx and our president, 🌞 Anja Vandenbergh🧚‍♀️.
The topic of the event was stakeholder management. Through a great case study: organizing the 1000th anniversary of Happy Town the different groups (mixing project managers and business analysts) the game was on.

Some takeaways from this interactive and fun event:
🎯 Be precise.
👥 PMs need BAs to identify and engage stakeholders.
💬 Communication is 90% of the work, but beware, "The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- George Bernard Shaw
🕰 It takes time to understand your stakeholders. Don't judge too soon! It's continuous work!
🧛‍♀️ We also talked about vampires... (thanks to the late Bob Prentiss)
We had at each steps reflection from the point of view of business analyst with some funny stories told by Filip Hendrickx
Thank everyone for their interactions, sharing knowledge, sharing experiences, giving voice to opinions and learn from each other.
Thanks Bart Verbeke, Pieter Luycx, Jolien Mees and Slim KCHAOU for your help in organizing this joint event. I can proudly announce that we will organize next year a second joint event where we will deep dive into a topic that concerns us all.

With smiling greetings,
🌞 Anja Vandenbergh🧚‍♀️
President of PMI Belgium
