On January 28th, PMI Belgium held its new year's event. This evening is the way for our members to meet as the general assembly. In an entertaining atmosphere, the board reviewed last year's activities, presented the new plans for the coming period and presented two new volunteers to its board. To foster interactivity and to help facilitate networking, everyone participated to a small scale quiz. The resulting positive atmosphere ensured interesting talks until the early hours. On January 28th, PMI Belgium held its new year's event. This evening is the way for our members to meet as the general assembly. The PMI New Year's event was definitely an event to say to PMI members, non-members, partners and sponsors that this year will be a great year! Echt Antwaarps Teater The very welcome reception at the Echt Antwaarps Teater's pub was the first step for a great evening to come. Here we could choose our favourite drink, chat with our colleagues, talk to familiar faces and meet business relations. There was also an interesting PMI information stand where people could learn more about PMI Belgium.

At the sound of that typical theatre bell, everyone went upstairs and we could see the very nice and cosy theatre scenery. Here the PMI Belgium Board members held a brief speech. They presented their strategies and plans for the coming next years. Very nice was the appreciation towards the many volunteers that help make PMI Belgium events a success, as well as the attention to the various partners that contribute to this chapter's achievements. And luckily it wasn't boring nor exhaustive at all. To the contrary actually. They finished ahead of time and succeeded in launching many laughters in the audience. They confirmed to all of us that things might change this year and we'll have nice events to watch out for. This of course means for the members: more knowledge, networking and focus on quality rather than quantity.

A Western country with 10 times as many sheep as people?

When we thought that nothing else could make this evening more special, we had a grateful surprise: an interactive quiz! People were encouraged to form small teams with others they did not know. It was very nice to work with people one knew the faces of, but didn't know personally. We had very good teams. It was fun working in a somehow interactive and dynamic way without a direct relation to project management. Actually many said that it was just perfect, because after a long day of working we are looking for something refreshing outside the office.

Work that network.

The evening ended with an amazing networking session back in the pub of the Echt Antwaarps Teater. There the winners of the quiz, team Penguin with an end score of 90%, were surprised with a nice bottle of wine. This was not announced at the beginning of that quiz, so it made people smile big time and applaud. After that the good vibes ensured interesting talks until the early hours.

Everyone went home looking forward for the next event.
